Recognized as one of Outside Business Journal’s best new products of 2022, the 9000 Zarathustra GTX RR BOA RECCO features state-of-the-art, ultra-lightweight construction designed for technical mountaineering and ice climbing. The Zarathustra uses a unique, seamless knit upper that stretches with a climber’s movements, stabilized by a high-performance carbon fiber and aluminum mid-soled internal boot, all kept safe and secure through an innovative BOA Fit System and Recco rescue system.


▪ A fully integrated external gaiter is made from a highly abrasion-resistant, synthetic knit to prevent snagging in jagged rock and ice and fits perfectly over the top of the boot and the lower leg to make for a clean transition to the pant to prevent snow and debris getting into the leg while allowing total freedom of movement
▪ An integrated BOA Fit System wraps cleanly around the gaiter and allows an external adjustment of the internal boot, both inside and outside of the gaiter without having to remove gloves
▪ Inside, a highly cushioned tongue leverages elastic gussets to improve comfort no matter the tension used on the BOA Fit System
▪ A hook-and-loop strap is used on the top of the internal boot to secure the fit and provide additional leverage to the foot from above the ankle
▪ Vibram Penia outsoles with deep treads provide great grip on wet and icy surfaces, while the fully integrated PCS (Professional Crampon System) works seamlessly and automatically with leading crampons
▪ Bi-density PU midsoles offer excellent support, while carbon-fiber and aluminum lasting boards greatly reduce weight while improving performance and heat retention in spite of the very low weight of this boot
▪ GORE-TEX Insulated Comfort membranes provide waterproof, breathable protection suitable for harsh alpine terrain and weather and are complemented by aluminum fabric-lined thermal footbeds for added heat retention
▪ Recco advanced rescue technology is searchable through radar reflection to assist rescuers in case of an emergency and is integrated directly into the boot
